Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
On your arrival, our tour representative/guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight stay at Kampala Serena Hotel/Sheraton Hotel for Luxury. Depending on the time of arrival, your guide will take you on a city tour around Kampala. Places to visit include, Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum and the African Craft Village.
Day 2, Transfer to Jinja
After breakfast at the Hotel, you will set off for Jinja in Eastern Uganda. En route you will see a lot of sugar cane and tea plantations in the Lugazi area. Also have a stop over at Mabira forest for a short forest walk to search for forest birds and colobus monkeys. Proceed and reach Jinja town. You will visit the Source of River Nile and get a chance to see where the mighty River Nile (Longest River in Africa) starts its journey all the way to Mediterranean Sea. Have lunch in Jinja town and after transfer to a point where white water rafting thrilling adventure starts at Bujagali falls. Day 3, Transfer to Sipi
After breakfast at the Hotel in Jinja, you will transfer to Sipi Falls for a Nature walk. Upon arrival, you will go for the nature walk to the spectacular Sipi falls which has its origins from Mount Elgon. On this nature walk, expect to see the caves, plantations of coffee, matooke and sugar cane along the way. You will depart with your packed lunch. Later in the evening, return to Jinja town for dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort for Luxury/Hotel triangle for mid range/Nile Anchor Palace/Nile Explorers Camp for Budget.
Day 4, Transfer to Masindi Town
You will depart for Masindi town early in the morning after breakfast at your hotel in Jinja via Kampala. Enroute you will visit the famous Luweero triangle. Proceed and have another stop over at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will take a nature walk to experience the life of the Rhinos in the wild. You will have lunch at the sanctuary and after the walk in the evening, you will transfer to Masindi town for dinner and overnight stay at Masindi Hotel/New court view Hotel
Day 5, Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast at the Hotel in Masindi, you will transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. The Park is known because of its famous Murchison falls and also because it’s the largest protected area in Uganda. Upon arriving at the Park, you will go for the Nature walk to the Top of the falls where you will enjoy your packed lunch from while listening to the sound of the water flowing. At the falls is where water thunders through different rapids from a 7-metre gap to fall over 40 meters Gorge below. Day 6, Game drive and launch cruise along the Albert Nile
After an early breakfast, you will go for a game drive on the Northern Bank of River Nile. The activity takes about 3-5 hours and Wildlife in the Park includes elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda kobs, oribis and waterbucks. After the drive you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the Albert Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfisher, cormorants, bee-eater and the rare shoebill stork. Day 7, Transfer to Semuliki National Park
You will wake up early in the morning and start on your long journey to Semuliki National Park. You will pass Via Masindi and Hoima. You will have your lunch enroute to the Park. You will reach the park headquarters in the late afternoon where you will register and later check in into your lodge. Late evening, you will go on a night game drive and search for wildlife species such as the slender mongoose, serval cats, white tailed mongoose and diminutive genet. Semuliki National Park is the only Park in Uganda where one can go on the night game drive. Return to your lodge late night for an overnight stay at Semliki safari lodge for Luxury, Beguma cottages for mid range and at different campsites for budget.
Day 8, Chimpanzee tracking in the forest
Early in the morning after a cup of tee, you will be briefed by the Uganda wildlife Officials at the Park headquarters about chimpanzee tracking. After this you will set out for chimpanzee tracking in the beautiful cool rain forest. Apart from the Chimpanzees, the forest also has a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will visit the hot springs of Sempaya and the pygmies. In the evening transfer to fort portal town for dinner and overnight stay at Rujuna guest house for Budget, Rwenzori View guest house/Fort Motel for Midrange and Mountains of the moon Hotel for Luxury
Day 9, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart Semuliki National Park and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Visit the Fort portal town in the afternoon and also visit the Toro King's Place. Proceed to Kibale for check in at your Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Primates Lodge or Ndali Lodge for Luxury/ Kibale forest Lodge for Mid range/ chimpanzee guest house for Budget.
Day 10, Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk
After breakfast, you will set out for chimp tracking with in the Kibale Forest. During your search, expect to see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys and other animals like the forest elephants, buffaloes, leopards, bush pig and duiker, lions, warthogs, reptiles and amphibians as well as a colorful variety of butterflies. Return to the Lodge for lunch. After lunch go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for most of the water loving bird species. The forest /Park has almost 335 species of birds and there fore a good place for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 11, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (3-4 hours)
Early in the morning after breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park reaching the park Headquarters at Mweya. Prepare and go for a game drive in the Northern crater area where there is a lot of dark holes called the black craters with no water. You may be able to see a lot of animal species such as the Elephants, lions, buffaloes, Leopards, monkeys such as the black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, patus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and the blue monkeys. Other animals that can be seen are the bush pigs and the warthogs, antelopes such as the topi, water and the bush bucks. Return late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge/ Jacana safari Lodge for Luxury or Hippo Hill camp for midrange or Simba safari camp/Mweya Hostels for budget
Day 12, Game drive and Launch cruise.
Early in the morning go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi area which is well known as the Kob mating grounds and there fore in this place one is able to see a lot of kobs and other antelopes like the situnga, and the hyenas. Other animals can also be spotted such as the Elephants, lions, and many more. This takes 2-3 hour. Return to the camp for lunch and in the afternoon go for a Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. You may be able to see a lot of crocodiles along the channels bank sides, a lot of the hippopotamus since in Africa this place is regarded as the highest concentration of the hippos, elephants taking water and a lot of bird species at the pelican point. Day 13, Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park (4-5 hours)
This morning you will set out for the game drive in Ishasha area and expect to see the rare tree climbing lions. The lions can be seen up on the fig trees. However it’s not a guarantee that the lions will be seen. Some times it depends on the luck and time of reaching the area. You will have lunch in the Ishasha sector and after you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park in preparation for your next day Gorilla trek. Day 14, Gorilla trek in Bwindi forest Park
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the UWA officials, set off for the gorilla tracking. This is a once life time experience and unforgettable adventure. The ranger guides will lead you into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about1hour. The activity can take 6-7 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awe some and exciting moment. Enroute there are a lot of chimpanzees and other types of the primates such as the monkeys, birds and so more. Day 15, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Bunyonyi which is one of the deepest lakes is Africa. The Lake has almost 32 Islands. The Lake is a good stop over for relaxation for people from trekking Mountain Gorillas. Upon arrival, you will go on a boat ride. This will enable you visit most of the islands on the Lake. Each Island is named according to the bird species found on the Island and some were named because of their purposes for example the Punishment Island which is the smallest and was used by the Bakiga people to drop their girls who got pregnant before marriage. After the Boat ride, return back to the Lodge for relaxation while you watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort/Arcadia cottages
Day 16, Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Very early in the morning, you will take your breakfast and then drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Have Lunch in Mbarara town and after you will enter the Park with a game drive enroute which will enable you to see animals like zebras, topes, elephants, elands, impalas, buffaloes and antelopes. Dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana luxury tented for Luxury or Arcadia cottages for mid range or Rwonyo campsite for Budget.
Day 17, Game drive and Boat ride on Lake Mburo
Early morning, you will go for game drive and search for early risers and all other animals that you missed out in the previous game drive. Return to the Lodge for refreshments, Lunch and in the after noon go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo which will get you quite close to Crocodiles and Hippos. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana luxury tented for Luxury or Arcadia cottages for mid range or Rwonyo campsite for Budget.
Day 18, Hyena walk and transfer to Entebbe
Early morning you will have breakfast and after go for the hyena walk with in the Park. This is a guided walk and you will be escorted by an official from the Uganda wildlife Authority for security purposes and to provide you with more information about the Park and the trail. Start on your journey to Kampala with Lunch enroute. You will reach Entebbe in the evening in time for dinner and overnight stay at Entebbe Central Inn for Budget or Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel/ Imperial Botanical Beach hotel for Luxury or The Boma Guest house for mid range.
Day 19 - The Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria
After breakfast, you will transfer to the pier to board the ferry boat which will take you to Ssese Islands which is an archipelago of 84 islands on Lake Victoria. You will be transferred to Bugala Island. Reach at the Island, check in at your lodge, relax and have dinner at Ssese Palm Beach Resort/ Ssese habitat Resort / Mirembe Resort.
Day 20, Full day at the Ssese Island
Early morning breakfast will be enjoyed with stunning sunrise. You will go bird watching and forest walk in the near by forest at the Island. You will look out for animals like primates such as Monkeys, water and forest birds like: Hornbill, Turacco, Flycatcher, weaver, Fish Eagle, and colorful butterflies. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the white sand beaches around the Island. Dinner and overnight at Palm Beach Resort/ Ssese habitat Resort / Mirembe Resort.
Day 21, Transfer back to Entebbe and departure
Have breakfast and after leave the Island by the morning Ferry back to Bukakata. Have lunch in Entebbe town and then later you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. |
