Day 1: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park
Have breakfast and then drive to Kibale. The northern route is shorter and faster and has a distance of about 300km with a tarmac road going to Fort Portal and also a distance of 36km on murram to Kanyanchu. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route in Fort Portal town and proceed to Kibale forest national park where on arrival, you may visit the Crater Lakes around and continue to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest guest house.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & Nature walk
After breakfast, you will go for briefing by the ranger guides about the dos and don’ts of Chimpanzee tracking and later head into the forest in search of these elusive primates. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking.
The Forest’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primates including monkeys and baboons coupled with chimpanzees. After tracking the chimpanzees, you will return to the lodge to refresh and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit Bigodi wetland for a guided nature walk where you will expect to see various bird species and a number of beautiful butterflies. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will enjoy a leisurely drive back to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight and that will be end of this 3 Days Kibale forest Chimpanzee tracking safari in Uganda.
