The time taken driving to Bwindi entirely depends from where you start your journey from. From Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport, you spend approximately 8 – 9 hours driving on road to reach Bwindi Forest National Park for your gorilla tracking experience.
This is an interesting journey because it takes you via various regions and districts of Uganda. You may choose to have a brief stopover at the equator for a tropical experience. Right at the road side are several shops for crafts and fresh fruits.
The stunning scenery of the magical rolling hills of Kigezi, various vegetation, several lake, rivers, and swamps are all sight you will see right before finding your way to the home of mountain gorillas. In regards of kilometers, Kampala is 570 kilometers away from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
The portion of the road from Rukungiri town to Bwindi has a number of bumps which tourists often enjoy claiming it gives them African Massage.
Lake Mburo Park is about six to seven hours from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Most Uganda tour companies add a stop at Lake Mburo so as to reduce on the distance and cut on fatigue. Lake Mburo is a great place to encounter Zebras and Impalas.
