No Ferry use in Murchison falls national park : Murchison Falls National Park is the largest and most visited national park in Uganda found in the northern rift valley termed as the northwestern part of Uganda. The park was gazetted in the year 1926 and covers about 3,840 square kilometers and has a lot of bird and mammal species. Murchison Falls National Park has more than 451 species of birds and more than 74 mammal species.
In the past, Murchison Falls National Park was known as Kabalega National Park in recognition of the king of Bunyoro-Kabalega and it has a lot of tourist attractions leading to the tourist activities that have attracted a lot of people to come and enjoy these activities within the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Some of the touristy activities in Murchison Falls National Park include the chimpanzee trekking that is done in Budongo forest, the nature-guided walks, hiking to the top of the falls, game drive safaris, boat cruise safaris, sport fishing adventures, among others. Murchison Falls National Park is seperated by the longest river, the Nile, which created the great Murchison Falls that have become a great tourist attraction.

The fall area is spectacular, formed by the great river Nile, and the Nile moves forcefully through the rift valley escarpments. Underneath, there is a 43-meter-long foamy pool. Given that the park is divided by River Nile into southern and northern sector, it was necessary for visitors to use a ferry to cross from one region to another region. Every trip, the freeway could only transport a maximum of eight automobiles. This ship used to cross every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. east African time, 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. For travelers, cruisers, and light cars, the payment is 5000 Uganda shillings. Extraordinary ferry crossings used to cost 20,000 shillings or more, depending on the weight and size of the vehicle, and were charged separately from regular admittance. The ferry separated the visitors traveling from east to west by crossing the waterway from north to south and south to north. Installments were made on both sides of the arrival date.
However, there is no more use of a ferry as the government of Uganda made an effort to make sure that the tourism road within the Murchison Falls National Park was improved. As a result, a good and stunning bridge has been constructed, linking the two regions of the Murchison Falls National Park, namely the northern and the southern regions of the Murchison Falls National Park. This has created a wonderful space and there is no longer time wasting as it used to be during the ferry crossing, which has made all the arrangements so much more positive and smooth.
Where the ferry used to cross, visitors can now enjoy uninterrupted game drives, safaris, boat cruises on the river, chimpanzee trekking, nature walks, and game drive safaris.
