Park entry fees to queen Elizabeth national park , Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest and one of the most visited national parks in Uganda located in southwestern region in Kasese, Rukungiri, Kamwenge and Rubirizi districts. the park covers a total land area of 1,978 square kilometers and a habitat of abundant wildlife species including vegetation types, water bodies, animals like the tree climbing lions which are found in Ishasha sector, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, giant forest hog, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, primates like chimpanzees, vervet monkeys, baboons, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys which are found in Kyambura Gorge and Maramagambo forest, bird species such as the pink backed pelican, long tailed cormorants, African jacana, black crake, squacco heron, African fish eagle, wattled plover, open billed stork, pied kingfisher, yellow backed weaver among others.

Queen Elizabeth national park offers thrilling and adventurous activities to visitors on a safari such as game drive in Kasenyi plains, boat cruise on Kazinga channel which joins Lake Edward and Lake George, mongoose tracking, lion research tracking, bird watching, nature walk in Maramagambo forest, hot air balloon activity, chimpanzee trekking among others which give visitors breathtaking and unforgettable experiences.
Park entrance fees
Park entrance fee is the money that is paid by any traveler so as to enter Queen Elizabeth national park in order to participate in various activities in the park though independent from money paid for the activities. The money paid is collected by Uganda Wildlife Authority a government body in Uganda in charge of tourism and it’s used to develop the national park, pay park rangers, develop the surrounding communities through building health Centre’s, schools among others. Park entrance fees in Queen Elizabeth national park vary depending on the number of days you will spend on you safari, the activities to be involved in among others.

Visitors are on a safari in Queen Elizabeth national park will be required to present valid identification documents at the park entrance to confirm their residential status and park entrance ticket in the park is valid for twenty four hours from the time of entrance therefore an extra time spent in the park after the 24 hours have elapsed you will be charged for another day. Entrance fees in Queen Elizabeth national park are independent of bird watching activity. Children aged between below 5 years are not charged therefore persons aged between 5 to 15 years the ones considered children.
Getting to Queen Elizabeth national park
Queen Elizabeth national park is located in southwestern Uganda and can be accessed by both road and air transport means
Road transport, when traveling to the park by road there are two routes that you can use for example the route from Kampala via Masaka, Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kasese and then to the park headquarters with a stopover at the Equator and the journey takes about 6 to 7 hour drive and another route from Kampala via Mubende, Fort Portal, Kasese and then to the park headquarters which takes about 6 hours’ drive.
The park can also be accessed from Bwindi Impenetrable forest where by visitors can combine gorilla trekking with other activities in Queen Elizabeth national park. When connecting from Bwindi impenetrable national park you will drive via Ishasha sector in the southern part of the park to the park headquarters which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive.
Queen Elizabeth national park can also be accessed by public means of transport because there are public buses which travel daily from Kampala to Kasese therefore you will board a bus from Kampala bus park to Kasese town and then hire a private taxi at an affordable price to the park headquarters.
Air transport, there are domestic airlines like Aero link Uganda limited, Eagle air among others which operate scheduled and chartered flights from Entebbe airport or Kajjansi airfield to Kasese airstrip or Mweya airstrip taking about one hour.
