Day 1: Transfer to Kyangugu/Bukavu
Depending on your location in Kigali, you will be met by our company representative/driver guide for your 6-7 hours’ drive to Congo with en route lunch in Butare/Kibuye. Proceed via Nyungwe with great views of the rain forest. Cross to Bukavu and proceed to your hotel for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at Orchids lodge
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla trekking
After breakfast at the lodge, drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the lowland gorillas. Thereafter with your packed food and water, depart to enter the park to start the search of the lowland gorillas, this can take 3-5 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. After finding and viewing the gorillas for 1 hour, walk back to meet your driver. You can either return to your hotel in Congo or drive to cross back to Rwanda and stay close to Nyungwe national park. Dinner and overnight stay at Orchids hotel as above or Nyungwe Top view hotel
Day 3: Canopy walk and drive back to Kigali
After breakfast at your lodge, en route drive for a canopy walk in Nyungwe forest which offers clear view of the park with its primates, birds, butterflies. Proceed to Butare for lunch as you proceed to Kigali city. You will either be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or proceed to Kigali airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
