DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park: On day 1 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari, you will be met by our Ugandan company representative who will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and embark on a journey to south western part of Uganda. You will have a stopover at the equator where you will pose for photographs between the southern and northern hemisphere then head to Mbarara city for a lunch break. After lunch, you will proceed the journey direct to Bwindi impenetrable national park via flat farms of Ankole and rolling hills of kigezi. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in your lodge, freshen up, have dinner and relax from a tiring long drive.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park: After breakfast on day 2 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari, you need to pack all that you require for this gorilla trek such as snacks, enough drinking water and wear the suitable gorilla trekking gear and be transferred to the sector you intend to trek in for a pre gorilla trekking briefing where you will get to know about the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking and finally hire the porter and be led into the impenetrable forest by the rangers to start the search of the endangered mountain gorillas. Depending on the movement of mountain gorillas, you will spend about few minutes to about 7 hours searching for the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. After finding the gorillas, you will spend an hour with them taking photographs and watching them as they move on with their daily activities roaming the forest. After spending an hour with gorillas, trek back to the starting point to be returned to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking certificate and return to the lodge for a relaxed evening, have your dinner and overnight sleep. There is an option of Batwa experience.

Day 3: Transfer to Virunga national park Congo
Transfer to Virunga national park: Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge on day 3 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari then check out and exit Bwindi impenetrable national park to embark on the journey to Democratic Republic of Congo via Queen Elizabeth national park and proceed your journey to Virunga national park through Mpondwe boarder for clearances to obtain your Congo Visa and gorilla trekking permit then be transferred to your lodge for check in, spend your evening at leisure, have dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
Mountain gorilla trekking in Virunga national park: After breakfast on day 4 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari, you will be driven to Bukima police post where you will be briefed about gorilla trekking, hire a porter and start the journey in the wild to search for the habituated gorilla family in the wilderness of virunga national park. The walk will take about 2-5 hours searching for these gentle giants and spend one hour with them in their natural habitats taking photographs but remember to keep your camera flash light off at all the time while in the habitat of gorillas. After spending one hour in the wild, you will exit the forest and be returned to your lodge for lunch. You may spend your afternoon at leisure or have a visit to the local communities.

Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes national park Rwanda
Transfer to volcanoes national park: On day 5 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari, wake up for a cup of coffee for breakfast or anything that will be served then check out of the lodge and be driven from your lodge to Rwanda Congo border where you will obtain Rwanda visa then connect to Gisenyi Rwanda and be driven direct to Ruhengeri with an enroute lunch. You will pass via park headquarters to obtain your mountain gorilla permit then head to your lodge for check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park: After breakfast on day 6 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking, hire a porter and be led into the forest to trek endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda with in volcanoes national park. The trek last from 30minutes to 5 hours depending on the movement of gorillas. Spend an hour with them and finally be returned to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you may choose to spend your evening at leisure or have a walk to visit the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo or even opt for a cultural tour to the Ibyiwacu cultural village.

Day 7: Transfer to Kigali for departures
Transfer to Kigali for departures: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your loge on day 7 of 7 days Mountain gorilla trekking safari then check out of the lodge and start the road drive from Volcanoes national park to Kigali. While in Kigali, you will enjoy Kigali city tour visiting some of the Kigali genocide memorial sites, kimironko market, and other attractions in Kigali city. Enjoy your lunch and finally be dropped off at a hotel in Kigali or at Kigali international airport.
