Kenya Wildlife Safari

Day1. Arrival & Hotel Transfer

You will be welcomed by our company representative and your driver / guide upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your 20 days East Africa tour and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi where you will enjoy the rest of the day at leisure as you relax and unwind from the journey. Dinner and overnight at LAICO Regency Hotel.

Day 2; Nairobi-Samburu

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through central Kenya and north across the equator to Samburu National Reserve arriving Samburu Serena Lodge/Shaba Sarova Lodge in time for lunch. An afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive is planned today. Samburu National Reserve is situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in Kenya. This means that there is plenty of water, trees and shade to attract wildlife like; Elephants, Lions, Giraffes and Zebras from the surrounding savannah plains.

Leopards are also regularly spotted. The Uaso Nyiro River’s magnificent displays are the long and huge Crocodiles, which exceed six meters (20 feet) from snout to tail. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Sopa Lodge/Sarova Shaba Lodge. Approx Transit time: 5½ hrs Meal plan

Day 3. Explore Samburu

Full day in Samburu, a beautiful and game abundant Park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s Zebra, Blue-necked Somali Ostrich and Reticulated Giraffe. Morning and afternoon ‘Spice’ game drives, with a visit to a local Samburu village. Other optional activities include camel riding, guided nature and bird walks. Overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge/Sarova Shaba Lodge. Meal plan.

Day 4. Samburu- Lake Nakuru

Depart after breakfast and drive to the floor of The Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in the afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive in the Park is planned for today. Lake Nakuru is famous for the presence of up to two million Flamingos, seasonally feeding on the abundant algae. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. In addition, many species of game can be found in the Park including the introduced Rothschild’s Giraffe, black and White Rhino, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Baboon and many species of plains game. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Nakuru Lodge. Meal plan: {B, L,D}.

Day 5. Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara

explore Masai mara on 20 days East Africa safariDepart Lake Nakuru after breakfast in the morning and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving at Mara Sopa Lodge or Mara Simba Lodge in time for lunch. An afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Approx Transit time: 6 hrs

The famous Masai Mara Game Reserve is our destination today. Known for its density of animals including the Big Five and 453 species of birds, it is one of the most visited reserves in Africa. This National Reserve’s plains are predominantly open Savannah, interspersed with patches of acacia woodland, and along the Mara River, riparian forest.

Whilst game viewing is excellent in the Mara all year round, the most popular time to visit is in late July into August where, over one million Wildebeest migration safari and hundreds of thousands of Zebra migrate from the Serengeti. The dramatic river crossings are a gruesome spectacle of survival of the fittest.

Day 6 & 7. Discover Masai Mara

Two full days in Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). Morning and afternoon game drives with an optional visit to a local Masai village. All meals and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 8. Masai Mara-Nairobi

Depart Masai Mara in the morning and drive back to Nairobi arriving approximately 1300hrs. Lunch on own/afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Nairobi Safari Club. Optional dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Approx Transit time: 6 hrs

Day 9. Nairobi- to Kilimanjaro

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet & greet with our other representative before being transferred to your hotel for overnight stay (B/L/D). Mount Meru Hotel/Moivaro Coffee plantation Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 10:Kilimanjaro – Lake Manyara

Driver /guide will pick you up at 08h00 hours from your hotel from where you will depart for Lake Manyara, via Arusha. Have a picnic lunch prior to taking on a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Dinner and overnight stay (B/L/D). Kirurumu

Day 11:Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park, with a game drive and picnic lunch enroute. Later in the afternoon, take on a short game drive in Serengeti National Park. Have the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay (B/L/D). Seronera Wildlife Lodge

Day12. Explore Serengeti National Park

Migration Safari serengetiFull day in Serengeti on morning and afternoon ‘Spice’ game drives in the rolling grasslands studded with wildlife for as far as the eye can see the Park. Meals and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge/Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

Day 13. Serengeti National Park-Ngorongoro Crater

A morning ‘Spice’ game drive in Serengeti, breakfast then depart after lunch for Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge for a brief visit of the museum on this 20 Days East Africa safari. Overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge/ Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Approx transit time: 3 hrs

Day 14. Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, descend into the Crater floor with picnic lunch boxes for a comprehensive ‘Spice’ game drive. Return to Seronera Wildlife Lodge/Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day15. Ngorongoro -Arusha – Kampala

Depart after breakfast and drive to Arusha for an early lunch at Impala Hotel, then connect with a flight to Entebbe where you will be met and assisted. Transfer to Africana Hotel Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 16; Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth park UgandaYou will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and transferred to Queen Elizabeth National park in western Uganda. On your way you will make a stopover at the equator for the equator experience and photography if you please. Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch and continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge.

Day 17; Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Go for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spot a lot of wildlife including African elephants, buffalos, antelopes, impala, among others and a lot of birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast, relax a bit and enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel inside Queen Elizabeth Park where you will come up close with hippos, crocodiles among other aquatic life and an array of birds on the bay! Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight on your 20 Days East Africa tour.

Day 18; Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha

Enjoy your breakfast and head southwest of Queen Elizabeth national park in search of tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector where on a lucky day, you will be able to spot many of them lounging on trees and enjoying the sun! Continue and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park arriving in the evening. Check in to your hotel, unwind, and enjoy dinner and overnight stay at Nkuringo Gorilla Camp

Day 19; Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi

mountain Gorilla Uganda in East AfricaHave an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas.

Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return. Your driver / guide will drive you back to your hotel to relax and spend another night.

Day 20; Transfer to Kampala
Enjoy an early morning breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch, arriving in Kampala in the evening. Drop off to your hotel in Kampala or the Airport for your onward flight
