Day 1: Transfer to Nakuru national park – evening game drive

Depending on your location in Nairobi, or upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, you will be met by your safari guide to embark on your half day drive to Lake Nakuru national park with en-route lunch. Precede passing through the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive in the park late afternoon and connect to your lodge with en-route game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Safari lodge for luxury/Sarova Lion Hill lodge for mid-range/Flamingo Hill Camp for budget

Day 2: Full day Nakuru national park

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and connect for an early morning game drive to explore more of the park’s beauty. During the game drive spot animals like the lions, leopards, hyenas and different antelope species. Later afternoon drive to Lake Nakuru and enjoy the views of huge numbers of flamingo birds on the lake shores and other bird species. In addition to the bird life of the park, explore the park’s wildlife spotting animals like the black and white rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas and zebras. Before night fall return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara – evening game drive

After breakfast leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara National Game Reserve. It’s a 5 hours’ drive arriving in time for lunch driving through Narok area where you visit the Masai market. Proceed to enter your park to check-in at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Masai Simba lodge –Mid-range/Ol Moran Tented Camp – Budget/Mara Sopa lodge – Luxury

Day 4: Full day game drive and Hot air balloon safari – Masai Mara

You will be picked from your lodge quite very early to connect for your hot air balloon safari that will take about 1 hour with great aerial views of the park and its habitats. After the balloon experience, you will receive certificate, enjoy bush breakfast then connect back to your lodge with en-route game drive for some of the animals.

Have lunch at your lodge then explore the Masai Mara plains for game drive that will get you quite close to different wildlife species in big numbers. From solitary buffaloes to copulating lions, birds and small game of all types; you will see it all on a game drive in Masai mara! Be keen enough as you observe the popularly known wildebeest migration from Serengeti crossing to Masai mara via Mara River. This migration only takes place in July to October. Animals such as the wildebeest, Zebras, Lions, Cheetah, Elephants, Hyenas, Thompson’s gazelle to mention but a few can be spotted. Later evening return to your lodge. Day 5: Fly to Entebbe – Uganda

After early morning breakfast, your guide will transfer for your 8:45 am flight to Uganda. Aero-link Uganda operates daily flights from Masai Mara to Entebbe from 8:45 am to 11:30 am. Check-in for your flight and depart. Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be picked up by your safari guide to transfer to your hotel in Kampala which is about 1 hours’ drive depending on the traffic. Day 6: Transfer to Kibale national park – Bigodi swamp walk

Depending on your location, you will be picked up by our company representative/ driver who will drive to Kibale national park- the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Arrive early afternoon for lunch in Fort portal town, visit the crater lakes and go for a 2-3 hours nature walk in Bigodi swamp and experience the different birds and primates. Thereafter, drive to check-in your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Guesthouse main house for mid-range/Isunga lodge for budget/Kyaninga lodge for luxury

Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking – Ishasha sector – Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee trekking with your tracking gears. Meet your guide at the head office then enter the rainforest to start searching for the chimpanzee, this will take 2-5 hours to find the chimpanzees. On seeing them, you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees while taking pictures.

After tracking, return to the lodge, refresh and have lunch and check-out to connect to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is a 3 hours’ drive from Fort portal with en route at the Equator.  Proceed to Ishasha sector where you will spend a night. Day 8: Ishasha game drive – Transfer Bwindi Impenetrable national park

After breakfast early in the morning, enjoy an early morning game drive in Ishasha sector for an opportunity to spot the tree-climbing lions, have en-route lunch and embarks on your journey to Bwindi Park, accommodation will be provided depending on your trekking sector. Day 9: Gorilla trekking – Mgahinga national park

Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return. Your driver/guide will drive you back to your hotel to relax and spend another night as above

Day 10: Golden monkeys and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, drive to the park head offices and then have a briefing about the golden monkeys and thereafter enter into the park taking the golden monkey tracking trail and on this experience other primates, birds, butterflies will be spotted. After spending 1 hour with the golden monkeys, drive back to your lodge, check-out of the lodge and embark on a 3 hours’ drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive late afternoon and check-in your lodge. Day 11: Explore Lake Bunyonyi

After your breakfast, you will set off to Lake Bunyonyi to chill and relax. This is a 2 hours’ drive arriving Bunyonyi late morning. The lake is located between Kisoro and Kabale in southwestern Uganda close to the border with Rwanda. It’s believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa with the depth between 44m and 900m and its about 7 to 25kms wide.

Take a boat trip to some of the fascinating islands on the lake – Kyahugye Island where you will find some wildlife including the Zebras, waterbucks, impalas and Kobs. Visit Akampeine Island (a punishment island) where pregnant unmarried girls were dumped to die, the Bwama and Njuyeera Island-where missionary Dr. Leonard Sharp founded a leper colony. Return in the evening at the lodge to relax and chill. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above

Day 12: Return to Kampala/Kigali

Wake up early, have breakfast and embark on your journey to either Entebbe or Kigali. It’s a 8-9 hours’ drive from Bwindi forest to Entebbe with en-route lunch. On arrival at Entebbe, you will either be dropped at the airport for your evening flight back home. Alternatively, you can drive to Kigali. It’s a 4-5 hours’ drive passing through Katuna border. Have en-route lunch in Kigali city. Depending on your flight details, you will drop off at the airport for flight. End of safari.
