Day 1: Pick up and transfer from Kigali to Akagera National park
Transfer from Kigali to Akagera national park: Be ready to be picked up by our company representative in Kigali from your communicated location on day 1 of 4 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari tour and set off on a drive direct to Akagera national park where you will check in your hotel for lunch then embark on an afternoon boat cruise along lake Ihema that will reward you with a lot of fauna and flora species including mammals that flock the shores of the lake in the afternoon in search of drinking water and several aquatic wildlife. After oat cruise, you will be driven back to your lodge with an enroute evening game drive to spot more mammals including hunters and nocturnal mammals returning to the park from their hideouts. While at the lodge, you will enjoy your dinner and grab an overnight rest.

Day 2: Morning game drive in Akagera and transfer back to Kigali
Morning game drive in Akagera national park and return to Kigali: After an early breakfast on day 2 of 4 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari, you will meet your Rwanda safari driver and head out for an early morning in the wilderness of Akagera national park to encounter with different species of fauna such as Elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, rhinos, birds, butterflies and stunning vegetation cover. Later in the afternoon, you will return to the lodge for lunch and set off on a drive back to Kigali for a splendid Kigali tour exploring the beauty of the clean city. You will be able to explore Kigali genocide memorial sites, craft shops, kimironko market, coffee shops and many more. Head to you lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes national park for 1st gorilla trek
1st gorilla trek in Volcanoes national park: On day 3 of 4 Days Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari, wake as early as possible for breakfast and by 5:30am, set off on a 2 hours driver from Kigali to volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri where you will stopover at the park headquarters to obtain your gorilla trekking permits and join the rest of trekkers for a briefing. During the briefing, you will be get to know the dos and don’ts, and be allocated a gorilla family for trekking together with other trekkers since one family is trekked by maximum of 8 persons per day. After briefing, you will be led into the forest to start the adventure of trekking the habituated mountain gorillas in their natural habitats while encountering with other park dwellers such as other primates like golden monkeys, mammals such as forest hogs, warthogs, forest elephants, bird species, and many more. The entire trek lasts from 30 minutes to 5 hours or full day depending on the movement of both gorillas and trekkers. After finding the gorilla family, you will spend with it one hour taking photographs, and learning their different behaviors such as feeding, copulating, breast feeding, and many more. In a blink of an eye, one hour is done and you have to trail back to the starting point to meet your safari driver and be driven to the lodge for late lunch and a relaxed evening. However, you may enjoy an optional evening cultural tour to Ibyiwacu cultural village or spend an evening on a guided walk to visit the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo.

Day 4: 2nd gorilla trek in volcanoes national park and departures
2nd gorilla trek in Volcanoes national park and return to Kigali for departures: After breakfast on day 4 of 4 days Rwanda double gorilla trek and Akagera wildlife safari tour, you will be return for a pre gorilla trekking briefing at the same location just as on the previous days where you will find other trekkers again. On this day 4, ensure that you request the rangers for a different gorilla family otherwise you might end up trekking the same family trekked previously. Well, after briefing, hire a porter again and be led into the wilderness of volcanoes national park to search for the allocated habituated gorilla family. Spend an hour again with the gorillas and later on return to the lodge for lunch. As soon as you are done with lunch, meet your safari driver and embark on a 2 hours driver from Volcanoes national park back to Kigali and be dropped at your preferred destination be it a hotel in Kigali or at Kigali international airport for a late evening flight.
