3 Days Mount Kilimanjaro National Park via Marangu Route

The 3 Days Mount Kilimanjaro National Park via Marangu Route is a short safari tour package that involves a short trek on the Marangu Route to experience the mountain’s lower ecosystems, not a summit climb. The itinerary is crafted including hiking through rainforests to Mandara Hut on day one, proceeding to Horombo Hut on moorlands on day two, and descending back to the Marangu Gate on day three. This trek offers scenic views, wildlife spotting and an introduction to the mountain environment.

Essentials to carry; Hiking boots, rain jacket, layered clothing, snacks, personal items, sunscreen, insect repellent, headlamp, daypack with water bottle among others.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

You will be pick up from your location and then be transferred to Marungu gate ‘’1,860m’’ and register for the climb. You will hike through the lush rainforest to Mandara Hut ‘’2,700m’’. Expecting to search for wildlife such as Colobus monkeys and unique flora. Visit also Maundi Crater for panoramic views. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

After having a delicious breakfast, leave the rainforest and ascend into the open moorland. The path offers iconic views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.  You will watch giant lobelias and groundsels as you gain altitude. Have overnight stay at Horombo Hut ‘’3,720m’’.

Day 3: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate

Start your day by descending from Horombo Hut. You will trek back through the moorland and into the rainforest. Proceed to the Marangu Gate. Then, drive back to Arusha or Moshi. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at any convenient place.

End of the trip.
