The Ngorongoro conservation area is a game reserve with a large concentration of game located inside the rim of an extinct volcano covering an area of about 8,292 square kilometres of forests, savannah plains, wetlands and lake habitats on the eastern side of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera with an area size of about 260 square kilometres and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden”.

Tarangire national park boasts the highest density of Elephants in Tanzania in a wild and remote wilderness area of spectacular beauty. Tarangire national park lies South East of Lake Manyara, a less crowded gem on Tanzania’s popular northern game-viewing circuit. Lake Manyara is a freshwater lake that lies within the diverse and lush Lake Manyara national park offering superb bird watching, stunning scenery and excellent game viewing. This compact game park is best known for its tree-climbing lions, healthy elephant population and thousands of flamingos. The 325 square kilometres Lake Manyara is also home to a variety of wildlife species, such as Hippo, Baboon, Buffalo, Cheetah, Masai giraffe and Impala.

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara national park

Upon arrival in Arusha or depending on your location in Arusha, you will be picked up by our company representative/safari guide, have a brief introduction by our driver guide who will pass you through the 5 days Serengeti safaris program.

Start our drive to Lake Manyara located on the shores of the Great Rift Valley of East Africa which is about 2 hours’ drive from Arusha, connect for a game drive, the drive is slow even on good roads but due to traffic regulations, your drive will always be slow. Upon arrival at Lake Manyara around mid-morning or early afternoon, you branch to your booked lodge for refreshment and lunch. After lunch, go for an evening game drive depending on the weather but the game drives are always rewarding and excellent as you get more animals searching for their dinner and big ones resting after a long day hustle. The most sited habitats are Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Baboons, and others. Return to our lodge for dinner and overnight at Twiga Lodge for budget option/Nsya Lodge for mid-range option/Lake Manyara Serena Lodge for luxury

Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti national park

Wake up early, have breakfast then explore more of the park on a morning game drive. Later proceed to connect to Serengeti national park with your lunch boxes. It’s a 4-5 hours’ drive to Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Osinon Camps and Lodges for budget/Serengti Heritage Lodge for mid-range/Serengeti Sopa Lodge for Luxury

Day 3: Full day Serengeti national park

Wake up early for breakfast and have your lunch boxes ready and hit the wilderness. Have a full-day game drive in search of a wide range of Serengeti wildlife. In September, there are limited or no chances of encountering the great wildebeest migration as most of them have already crossed the Mara River and are spread throughout the Masai Mara’s northern region though some are said to remain in the northern Serengeti. The park is gifted by nature with over 30 species of animals, over 400 species of birds. After the game drive, return to the lodge as above for dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 4: Visit Ngorongoro crater – Ngorongoro Conservation area

Starting our day with breakfast, and see off early to Ngorongoro conservation area, clearing for transit, proceed to the crater for a wildlife experience to see the animals dotted on the floor of the world’s largest crater with your packed lunch to spend a full day in the crater with picnic lunch. Late evening, to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Hhanda Coffee lodge for mid-range/Elileen’s Tree Inn for budget/Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for luxury

Day 5: Fly to Zanzibar – Visit Stone town  

Enjoy breakfast then check-out of your hotel in Arusha, you will be dropped off at Arusha airport for your onward flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar airport, you will be welcomed by your hotel driver/safari driver who will first take you to the hotel for check-in, have lunch and spend your afternoon exploring Zanzibar on a tour around Stone town where you will experience the history and culture of Zanzibar.

You will also visit Darajani market during your tour in stone town and later return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Zanzibar palace hotel.

Day 6: Boat ride and visit Menai Bay

You will have breakfast at your hotel and prepare for the day’s activities such as a boat ride on a traditional dhow and during the activity you will look out for dolphins in the water.

You will also enjoy snorkelling and swimming, sunbathing on one of the islands as you enjoy seeing the coral reef and marine life. You will also have lunch and also relax and sunbathe. After this experience, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Zanzibar palace hotel.

Day 7: Departure

You will have breakfast at your hotel and depending on your return flight, you will check-out and be dropped off at Zanzibar airstrip for your onward flight back to your home country via Arusha which will bring the safari to an end.
