Uganda National Parks

There are various adventure activities which can be done around the different Uganda National Parks and these activities include gorilla trekking, hiking, chimpanzee trekking, golden monkey trekking, wildlife safaris among others.
Destinations which can be visited during the adventure tours in Uganda include the following;
- Bwindi national park
Bwindi national park is among the best places to enjoy an adventure during tours around the south western part of the country.
The national park offers exciting gorilla trekking experiences during the year in its different sectors. Gorillas in Bwindi national park are found in the high altitude areas around the sectors which include Rushaga sector, Buhoma sector, Nkuringo sector and Ruhija sector.
The mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park can be seen in their natural habitat where tourists interact with them and watch them closely during tours in Uganda. The dense forests of Bwindi are home to numerous bird species and other primates apart from the gorillas.

- Murchison falls national park

- Rwenzori mountains national park

Throughout the year, tourists engage in hikes to the summit of Mount Rwenzori which is the Margherita peak at 5109 meters. The mountain is also referred to as the mountains of the moon and is known for its snow capped peak.
The hikes go through different zones on the mountain and there are different attractions which can be seen around Rwenzori mountains national park including lakes. There are also different ranges which are part of the Rwenzori mountains and they include Mount Speke, Mount Baker, Mount Emin among others.
Climbing mount Rwenzori offers tourists an exciting adventure along the different hiking trails which can take about 5 to 10 days.
- Mount Elgon national park
Mount Elgon national park is another Uganda National Park to visit during tours around the eastern part of Uganda. Part of the mountain is found in Kenya where tourists can also engage in hiking experiences during the year.
Mount Elgon is among the attractions found at the destination and tourists and enjoy hiking adventures which take about 4 days. There are different routes used to get to the top of the mountain and they include the Piswa trail, Sasa trail and also the Sipi trail.

The national park is known for the world’s largest mountain caldera and other activities carried out around Mount Elgon national park and they include bird watching, nature walks and community tours.
- Queen Elizabeth national park
Queen Elizabeth national park is another adventure destination located in the south western part of Uganda and is home to various wildlife species.

- Jinja
Jinja is one of the popular destinations which are visited during adventure tours in the eastern part of Uganda.
Different activities are done around Jinja and they include bungee jumping, white water rafting, boat rides on River Nile, quad biking, horse riding, kayaking, tubing among other activities. On the way to Jinja, tourists an stop by Mabira forest and enjoy zip lining through the forest.
- Kidepo valley national park
Kidepo national park in the north eastern part of Uganda offers a more relaxed adventure in the wild experience.
Some of the activities done around Kidepo valley national park include game drives, guided nature walks and bird watching experiences as well as the incredible encounters during cultural tours with the locals such as the Karamojong people, the Ik people, Dodoth among others.

- Mgahinga national park
