18 Days Uganda Safari is a lengthy safari that will give you at least a bit of almost every famous safari destination in Uganda. You will spend almost 3 weeks in Uganda having the safari of your life.

18 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival and hotel drop off

At the start of this 18 Days Uganda Safari, our company representative together with the guide will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport from which you will be transferred to Kampala Capital City where you will spend a night. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the set lodge. 

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino trekking and Transfer to Gulu

On this day you will wake up very early and transfer to Gulu. You will stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino trekking for about 2 -3 hours. After this trekking, continue the journey to Gulu where you will make a stopover in Gulu where you will have late lunch and enjoy your evening at leisure. 

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park, Game Drive

Wake up to early morning breakfast on this 18 Days Uganda Safari and later transfer to Kidepo National Park which will be a 3 hours drive. Embark on the game drive in Kidepo where you will see animals like herds of buffalos, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, and cheetahs. Later on, You will return to the lodge to spend the evening and night.

4: Morning game drive and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley

Wake up early and embark on another thrilling game drive in the vast savannah of Kidepo Valley. View the stunning scenery of the morning sunshine on the hills of Lomej, the Lotukei Mountains to the north close to the Sudan border, the Morungole range to the southern boundary of Kidepo before the rays strike down to the endless valleys of Kidepo and Narus valley.

Later that evening, return to the lodge for lunch and unwind a bit. After a short relaxation time, embark on a drive to Kidepo valley close to South Sudan border to visit the hot springs and you can encounter Ostriches within the region.

Day 5: Drive to Murchison Falls national park (Full day drive)

Wake up Very early after breakfast, and leave Kidepo via Gulu for lunch then continue to Murchison falls national park. This is a full day drive in the park which you will enjoy viewing a wide variety of animals. 

Day 6: Boat cruise and hike top of the falls

Wake up to early morning breakfast and head to the landing site where you will engage in a morning boat cruise. It starts at 9 am and goes up to the bottom of the falls. After that hike up to the top of the falls on this hectic but fascinating once you reach the top of the falls. Spend some time at the top of the falls where you will meet your driver and the cross the ferry and head back to the lodge. Have lunch at your lodge. Later go on an evening game drive to find the nocturnal animals. After that return to the lodge and have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

On this day you will transfer to Kibale National park. Wake up early morning and have breakfast. Later leave the lodge and head to Kibale Forest National Park which is known for harboring quite a number of Chimpanzees and other primate species like the red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkey and many more.  Have lunch in Kagadi and later on proceed with the journey to Kibale forest. 

Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Wake up early and have breakfast after which you will set out for chimpanzee trekking within the Kibale Forest. You will see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys and other animals like the forest elephants, bush pig, and duiker, warthogs, reptiles, and amphibians as well as a colorful variety of butterflies. Return to the Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for most of the water-loving bird species. The forest /Park has almost 335 species of birds and therefore a good place for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 9: Hot Springs visit and night game drive at Semiliki national park

Have breakfast and head to Semuliki National Park through the eastern Albertine area. You will then arrive and visit the hot springs before you proceed to your lodge. Later on, you can have a night game drive where you might see animals like the white-tailed mongoose and the slender mongoose, the standard and pennant-winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards, among others. You will be surprised by some of the animals you will find in this park.

Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Wake up have breakfast on this day 10 of the 18 days Uganda Safari. After that leave and embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. This is the home to the tree climbing lions in the famous ishasha sector. You will have a stopover for lunch. You will also stop over at the Equator where you will take pictures and later enter the park. On arrival, head straight to the explosion crater lakes in the park. After that proceed to your lodge and have dinner where you will spend the night. 

Day 11: Game drive and Launch cruise

Wake up early morning and have breakfast. Later on, set off for the game drive in the Kasenyi area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will expect to see animals such as lions, antelopes, buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda Kob and other types of antelopes.

Head to the lodge later for lunch and later go for a 3 hours boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will see animals drinking by the riverside and many bird species. Later on, go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early and set out for the game drive in Ishasha Sector area. Here you will expect to see the rare tree climbing lions. You will see these up in the fig trees. Have lunch in this ishasha sector. After lunch, embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. Arrive in Bwindi and head straight to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 13: Gorilla trek in Bwindi forest Park

Wake up early morning and have breakfast. Head to the park headquarters after for briefing by the UWA officials. After that go for the gorilla trekking and be sure to spend at least 2-6 hours searching for the primates since they roam around the park premises. Meet the gorillas and spend one hour with them taking photos and observing them. After that return to the park headquarters and meet your driver and head back to the lodge. Have dinner and spend the night.

Day 14: Golden Monkey tracking – community tour

Wake up early and transfer to Mgahinga national park after breakfast. Have a short briefing about the Golden Monkeys trekking. Go with pack food and water and start the trekking. When you find the monkeys, spend an hour in their presence taking pictures and observing. After that have your packed lunch and head to the local community to pay a visit to the Batwa pygmies. Enjoy their performances and storytelling. 

Day 15: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Day 15 of the 18 days Uganda safari tour is an amazing one where you will transfer from Mgahinga to Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake in Uganda. Lake Bunyonyi has almost 32 Islands. This is a good spot for relaxation and on arriving in this place, you will go on a boat ride where you will view the different islands on this lake. Learn about the cultural heritage on each island as taught by experienced rangers. After the Boat ride, return to your Lodge for relaxation while you watch the beautiful sunset in western Uganda. 

Day 16: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Wake up early morning, have breakfast and go on safari to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop over in Mbarara for lunch and then proceed to enter the park. Go on a game drive in Uganda’s smallest national park and view animals like zebras, Buffaloes, and elands. Later go for the evening nature walk along the Kigambara loop. This loop offers interesting guided walks alongside the Lake. 

Day 17: Walking safari and Boat ride on Lake Mburo

On the second last day of our 18 days Uganda Safari, wake up early, have breakfast, and meet your ranger who will guide you on a walking safari. This is the same as a game drive though this one is done on foot. After exploring the nature, return to the lodge for lunch and have some refreshments after which, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise where you will site some Crocodiles and Hippos on the banks of the Lake Mburo. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 18: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe/Departure

This being your last day of this amazing 18 Days Uganda Safari, wake up and have breakfast and later go for a game drive to catch the early morning animals. After this embark on a journey to Kampala, where you will make a stopover at the equator for lunch and later proceed. You will be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your flight back home.
