3 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Safari is a short safari that will see a traveler visit western Uganda for Chimpanzee Trekking and a nature walk that will see you visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves.
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Kibale forest
Depending on your location in Kampala, you will be picked up by your guide/driver to be transferred to Kibale forest. This is 5 hours’ drive with and route lunch. Arrive in Fort portal early afternoon and proceed to your lodge for relaxation.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon nature walk
On day 2 of our 3 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Safari, have breakfast very early and later transfer to the park head office for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees and later enter the forest with the guidance of a park ranger along with your tracking gears, packed water and snacks. The chimpanzee tracking takes about 2-5 hours in search of the chimpanzees. On finding the primates, you will spend 1 hour viewing them while studying their behaviour and taking pictures. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and refresh.
In the afternoon after lunch, connect for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland, where you will get to enjoy walking through a wetland with a variety of bird species. Later in the evening return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at as above
Day 3: Transfer to Entebbe and departure
On the final day of the 3 Days Kibale Chimpanzee Safari, you will have early morning breakfast and drive to Amabere Ga Nya mwiru caves where you will explore the caves that have a fascinating history, the waterfalls, and the Crater Lake. Have lunch and embark on a 5 hours’ drive back to Kampala and connect to Entebbe international airport to find your evening flight back home. End of Safari
