6 Days Western Circuit Safari
The 6 days western circuit safari is an interesting tour that will take you to three most visited national parks in Uganda including Kibale forest national park also known as the primate capital where you will be able to spend time with the chimpanzees, Queen Elizabeth national park where you will be able to view different animals like buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, hippos, warthogs among others during the game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

During the 6 days western circuit safari, you will be able to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will engage in an adventurous gorilla trekking experience and spend time with the mountain gorillas.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depending on your location on the first day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel or airport, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale forest national park. You will have en-route lunch along the way and stopover to take pictures and stretch your legs. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast on the second day of the safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for chimpanzee trekking briefing at Kanyachu Visitors center. After the briefing, you will be allocated a habituated chimpanzee family to trek and an experienced park guide who is conversant with trekking trails. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park takes about 2 to 5 hours depending on where they are located because they like to move deep into the forest in search of food.
During trekking you will be able to view other primates, birds, plants among others and once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them which gives you a chance to learn more about their behaviors, watch them feed, play, rest, breastfeed, take photos and record videos.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will check out of the lodge and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park which takes about 2-3 hours drive. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive/ lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel
On the third day of the safari, you will have an early breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi plains where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, hyenas among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on Kazinga channel, a water body that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the scheduled boat cruise which takes about 2 to 3 hours, you will be able to view large concentrations of hippos in water, nile crocodiles baking along the water banks, view different water birds, antelopes, buffaloes and elephants along the shores among others. After the boat ride, you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast on the fourth day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way, you will have a stopover in Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the tree climbing lions which will be lying in acacia tree branches and other animals like Uganda kobs, waterbucks, elephants among others. You will later have en-route lunch and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and upon arrival, connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking experience
After an early breakfast on the fifth day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge with your lunch box to go for gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and start trekking in jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 2 to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located as the like to move from one place to another in search of food.

During gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park, you will be able to view other primate species, mammals, birds among others and once the gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, grooming young ones, breastfeeding, learn about their behaviors, habits, take photos and record videos.
After the one hour with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking experience and later return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Departure to Kampala/Entebbe
On the last day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. On the way, you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and another stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take photos and buy souvenirs.
From the Equator, you will proceed to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
