This 7 days Kidepo and Queen Elizabeth Safari leads you to Uganda’s best wildlife destinations, which are Kidepo Valley National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park. Kidepo Valley National Park is renowned as Uganda’s most remote and untamed wilderness, offering an exclusive, off-the-beaten-path experience far from crowded tourist spots.

The park features a breathtaking mix of savannah plain, dramatic mountains and hot springs, unique cheetahs, wild ostriches and buffalo herds found nowhere else in Uganda.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its exceptional biodiversity, hosting over 95 mammal species and over 650 bird species across diverse ecosystems, including savannah, wetlands and crater lakes.

It is also a popular home to tree-climbing lions on Ishasha and the massive Kazinga Channel hippo population and is also set against the Rwenzori Mountains.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to Kidepo

Depending on your point of location Kampala or Entebbe, our expert driver guide will welcome you to the Pearl of Africa. You will be driven to your booked hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at the Fairway Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before departing to Kidepo Valley National Park. Proceed to the northeastern Uganda region with a lunch en route. Arriving at the park late evening, check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive and evening game drive

After having a yummy breakfast at the lodge, go on the morning game drive, where you will enjoy views of the mountains and sightseeing of a good number of animals, such as buffaloes, lions, giraffes, hyenas, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, and many more.  Enjoy an en-route visit to the hot spring and later, go back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will relax as you wait for your evening game drive.

In the evening, You will go for an evening game drive, expecting to see the missed-out animals during the morning session.

Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Back

After a morning breakfast at the lodge, go for another morning game drive to look for mammals, especially the big predators of the park, such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, among others. Afterward, you will drive to Fort portal for an overnight stay at Kyaninga Royal Cottage.

Day 5: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a morning breakfast, then after a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive late morning, and check into your lodge to rest as you wait for your hot lunch. Later, head out on an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will be able to see various animal species.

Some of the animals to see include crocodiles, warthogs, elephants, herds of elephants, and kobs, as well as numerous bird species such as Malachite Kingfishers and Pink-backed pelicans among others. Back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Elephant hubs – midrange.

Day 6: Birding and Afternoon Game Drive

Enjoy a morning breakfast at the lodge before heading out to the Katunguru bridge area and Maramagambo forest for birding. Some of the birds to sightsee include the Papyrus Gonolek, the elusive African Finfoot, the Pygmy Kingfisher, the African Skimmer, the Pink-backed Pelicans, the Yellow-billed Storks, the Pied Kingfisher, the Malachite Kingfisher, the White-winged Warbler, the Greater Swamp Warbler, and the Lesser Swamp Warbler, among others.

After birding, drive back to the lodge, relax and have a hot lunch.

In the evening, go for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains, a home to a vast number of animals; expect to explore more of them. After, return to the lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay at the above.

Day 7: Morning game drive—Ishasha sector Departure to Kampala—Entebbe

Enjoy a yummy breakfast at the lodge before heading out on an en-route morning game drive in the Ishasha section -home to tree-climbing lions, among other animals. Afterward, proceed to Kampala or Entebbe with an en-route lunch, with a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for impressive picture taking. Continue to Kampala, where you will be dropped at your hotel or at Airport for your flight departure.
