Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison falls national park
Arrival and transfer to Murchison falls national park, upon arrival at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, you will be picked by our representative to start the journey to Murchison falls national park in northwestern Uganda. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours drive and on the way you will have en-route lunch and stunning views of scenery, traditional homesteads, local people, road side markets among others. Upon arrival in the park you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will have breathtaking views of the Nile, scenery and after drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
Morning game drive, after an early breakfast on the second day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive where you will get an opportunity to view animals when they are most active. During the game drive you will follow different game tracks where you will have views of animals like buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, Jacksons hartebeest among others grazing in the savannah grasslands, view predators like lions, leopards, jackals, hyenas looking for a morning hunt, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to Paraa jetty for an amazing boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours, you will be able to view large herds of hippos and crocodiles in water, view elephants, buffaloes, antelopes among others along the shores, view aquatic birds like cormorants, kingfishers, fish eagles, herons, bee-eaters among others. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls where you will opt for an adventurous hike to the top of the falls which takes about 45 minutes. Hiking to the top is strenuous and requires visitors who are physically fit, when you reach on top you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park
On the third day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and start the journey to Kibale national park which is also known as the primate capital because it harbors a big number of primate species including chimpanzees, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys among others. On the way you will have en-route lunch and spectacular views of tea plantations, crater lakes, Rwenzori mountain ranges, local people among others. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
Chimpanzee trekking, after an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be grouped into 6 people where each group will be allocated a habituated chimpanzee family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park starts at around 8:00am and takes 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will have views of other primates in the forest such as baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, views of bird species, plants among others. Once the chimpanzees have been found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them which gives you an opportunity to ask different questions, observe their behaviors, take photos and record the beautiful moments to show people back home. After the breathtaking moment with the endangered chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for lunch.
Bigodi swamp walk, after lunch you will meet up with your driver guide to for an exciting nature walk in Bigodi wetland a sanctuary that is run by the community. During the swamp walk you will be able to view primates like grey cheeked mangbey, blue monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, different bird species such as the great blue turaco, yellow spotted barbet, Brown crowned Tchagra, superb sunbird, black bishop, black and white shrike flycatcher, western nicator, mammals like bushbucks, sitatungas, duikers, view colorful butterflies, enjoy the cool breeze, relax your mind, take pictures among others. You can also visit the local communities which gives you an opportunity to interact with the local people, buy craft souvenirs, visit their homesteads, farmlands and after return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Semuliki national park
After breakfast on the fifth day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Semuliki national park which is located western Uganda in Bundibogyo district at Uganda’s border with Democratic Republic of Congo. Semuliki national park is known for harboring wildlife species including animals like buffaloes, hippos, leopards, elephants, duikers, primates like chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and different bird species. The journey to Semuliki national park takes about 4 hours and upon arrival you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch you will go for a nature walk to the Sempaya hot springs. During the nature walk you will be accompanied by an experienced guide passing through the woodlands where you will have great views of primate species like red tailed monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, different bird species among others. Sempaya hot spring has both a female and male hot springs which have bubbling water that boils from rock at a very high temperature of above 103 degrees Celsius. The boiling water can be used to boil raw eggs and green bananas which get ready for consumption instantly. After visiting Sempaya hot springs you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon game drive
Chimpanzee trekking, on the sixth day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, you will have an early breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide and start trekking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees slept the previous night. During trekking you will have great views of different wildlife species and once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat where you will be able to watch them feed, play, fight, breastfeed, learn about their habits, take pictures and record videos with a flash less camera. After the one hour you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for lunch.
Game drive, after lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the savannah grassland in a comfortable pop up safari vehicle. During the game drive you will follow different game tracks which offer great views of animals like elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, sitatungas, leopards, different bird species, have views of the sunset among others and after return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 7 days Murchison falls, Kibale and Semuliki national park safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. You will have en-route lunch on the way and then proceed to Kampala where you will reach early evening, upon arrival you will be dropped off at Entebbe airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
