This 6 days Uganda safari will take you Kibale forest national park which is known as a primate capital due the highest number of primates such as chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, black and white monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons among others. You will also be able to explore Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest and most visited nation al park in Uganda. while in queen Elizabeth national park you will participate in activities like game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will view animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, oribi, warthogs, bird species and also engage in the boat cruise activity at Kazinga channel where you will cruise close to the animals like the hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes which will be along the water banks and various water birds such as kingfisher, cormorants, fish eagle among other.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale forest national park
You will wake up have breakfast and our driver guide will pick you up from the lodge, brief you about your 2 days Uganda chimpanzee safari and then transfer to Kibale forest national park via Mityana-Mubende road, Fort Portal which takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive. On your way you will have en-route lunch in fort portal.
After lunch you will proceed the journey which is full of beautiful scenery of the traditional homes, landscapes, farmlands, tea plantations in fort portal among others. On arrivals you will check in into the lodge have an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and bigodi swamp walk
On the second day you will wake up early have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the expectations during trekking and the rules and regulations. After the briefing you will be grouped into 6 people and start trekking in the jungle with a park guide who will be sharing information about the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park takes about 2 to 4 hours depending on their location and once the habituated chimpanzee family has been located you will spend one hour in the presence of the chimpanzees as you learn more about their life style, behaviors, watch them feeding, playing up in the trees as you record videos and take plenty of pictures with a flash less camera.
After chimpanzee trekking your driver guide will pick you up from Kanyachu Visitor’s Centre and transfer back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will transfer for a nature walk in Bigodi community wetland where you will have spectacular views of different bird species like the great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, primates like the black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys, red tailed monkey, plant species, butterflies and also have and interaction with the local people. After Bigodi wetland walk you will meet up with your driver guide and head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
You will wake up early have breakfast check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the most visited national park in Uganda with unique wildlife species. Upon arrival in the Queen Elizabeth national park you will check in into the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch you will transfer to Mweya peninsular for the afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel is a water body that joins Lake Edward and Lake George therefore it will be an exciting moment to participate in the breathtaking boat cruise trip which takes about 2 hours. During the boat cruise you will view various animal species such as hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, bird species among others. After the boat cruise you will transfer to the lodge check in have dinner and an overnight.
Day4: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
You will wake up early have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kasenyi plains for the morning game drive or lion tracking experience. During the game drive you will see animal species such as the leopards, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, hyenas, bush pigs, and various bird species such as the papyrus gonolek, white backed night heron, yellow throated cuckoo, red chested sunbird, white winged warbler among others. After the game drive which takes about 4 to 5 hours, you will drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park via Ishasha sector which takes about 4 hours’ drive. Ishasha sector is located in the southern part of queen Elizabeth national park and it’s a home of the tree climbing lions which will be viewed laying up in the fig trees staring down on the antelopes grazing in the open savannah plains. Tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector like to climb trees so as to protect themselves from ground heat and also run away from the tsetse flies. After the game drive in Ishasha sector you will continue to Buhoma sector in southern part of Bwindi impenetrable forest check in into the lodge have dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking
You will wake up early have breakfast at the lodge and with your packed lunch meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the expectations, rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will be grouped into 8 people for each habituated gorilla group depending on your interests and physical fitness. Each group of 8 people will be allocated a park guide at 8:00am you will start trekking in the jungle where you will have views of the vegetation, tree species, bird species among others.
Gorilla trekking will take about 2 to 8 hours depending on where the gorilla family is located and once the gorilla family has been found you will spend one hour with the gorillas in their natural habit learning more about their lifestyle, behaviors, taking photos with flash less camera, recording videos among other.
After having an encounter with the gorilla family you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide and drive to the lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Kampala
You will wake up have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala via Kabale town with a stopover in Mbarara district for lunch.
After lunch you will continue the journey via Masaka, Equator, Mpigi and Kampala. The journey takes about 8 hours’ drive and you will reach in Kampala early evening, you driver guide will drop you off at any place of convenience or drop you off at Entebbe airport for your next flight.
